CAF to Disburse $500,000 each To African Representative at the world cup

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) will be granting financial subsidy of US$500,000 to each of the five African teams that will be participating in the forthcoming 2018 World Cup in Russia.

The federation made these announcement on Friday, the same day that the world football governing body FIFA was due to conduct a draw for the group stage of the event that will be hosted by Russia.

The grant came up following a November meeting by the CAF Executive Committee that decided to set up an Ad Hoc committee, chaired by the CAF 1st Vice President Kwesi Nyantakyi, to map out a kind of support to be provided to African representatives to the World Cup.

Africa will be represented by Egypt, Nigeria, Tunisia, Morocco and Senegal.

The financial package will be used mainly to strengthen and improve the technical supervision of each team.

In addition, CAF will provide each African representative with “fieldwiz” equipment, a technological device and physical performance measuring tool for outdoor team sports players.

The much anticipated football showdown will be held from 14 June to 15 July 2018.
See you in Russia
